Objects Stuck in Ears
Common things that get stuck in kids ears and noses include bugs, little watch batteries, candy and beans,
and just about anything else kids can get a hold of. If a foreign body stays in the nose for any length of time, usually a thick green or yellow mucus will start to drain out, and the nostril may swell a bit and become red and tender. You might also suspect a foreign body in the ear of a child if they continue to tug on their earlobe.
Treatment:
For objects lodged in the ear, gently tug upwards and backwards on the earlobe to make the ear canal as straight as possible, while sharply shaking the head with the affected ear down to dislodge the object.
If a bug has crawled into the ear, fill the ear canal up with baby oil or the like to try to stun the bug and float it out. You can use a Latex Bulb Syringe (a teardrop shaped latex rubber bulb) filled with a 50/50 Hydrogen Peroxide/water solution to try to stun bug and flush it out. Be sure to rinse with clean water after finishing this technique. This is also the best method for ear wax removal.
Nasal foreign bodies can usually be forcefully blown out if you can plug the opposite nostril before blowing. You may need to use some nasal decongestant spray or preferably drops to dilate the nostrils first. On stubborn small objects, a little crying usually will produce some mucous in the nose which will help to lubricate and push the object out. Try to avoid using tweezers if possible, because the risk of pushing the object higher up into the nose is great.
For more information about this and other Urgent Care matters, I highly recommend The American Red Cross First Aid and Safety Handbook . It has earned tons of 5 star reviews from amazon.com readers and is a must for your household reference.
Seek Professional Medical Attention If:
-
You can’t remove the foreign body successfully.
-
Any deficit to hearing or difficulty breathing.
-
When in doubt.
-
Any signs or symptoms of infection.

Good advice, I would have probably have a panic attack. Gotta stay calm through the tough times.
Hi,
Thanks for the info.
Ear problems are so annoying. I train BJJ which causes pain to the ears and I got cauliflower ear and it hurt so bad, I had to have it get drained, thankfully now I wear headgear.
Like any other first aid tip, how to get rid of bugs from ear is a big tip which we should be familiar with. Thanks for it.

Oh man, they are so sensitive parts of our body that imagining such things happenings makes me shiver! Imagine how kids deal with it because their ears and nose are very small and still in development.
Yeah, but all the comments are just from other SEO posters. No real conversations or organic traffic. I’m thinking about removing it.
To me the idea of getting something stuck in the ear or eye has always been the ultimate nightmare. It’s good to be informed on what to do so that you don’t panic in a live situation
