Honey, I Think We Need to Go to the Emergency Room!
It’s 2am, and you wake to hear your child sobbing in her room. You wipe the sleep from your eyes, and crawl out of your warm bed, trying to not disturb your husband. Stumbling into your daughters room you find that she is burning up with fever, and has vomited on her bed. You think, “She’s been coughing a little today, but didn’t have a fever and certainly wasn’t vomiting.” You take her temperature, and it’s a whopping 104.5 degrees. Panicked, you give your some Tylenol, but 30 minutes later, her fever hasn’t fallen, and she vomited most of the Tylenol up. In desperation, you wake your husband and pack everyone in the car, and head off in the night, to the emergency room at you local hospital.
